9 Mandarin Chinese phrases to tell your Dad on Father's Day

It's Father's Day soon! While gifts, cards, and gatherings are wonderful ways to celebrate this special day, nothing conveys heartfelt emotions like words. In the rich and expressive Chinese language, there are numerous phrases that perfectly capture these feelings. In this post, we share some thoughtful Chinese phrases you can use to express your love and appreciation for your dad on Father's Day.

 

Fun fact:  In Taiwan, Father's Day although not an official holiday, is usually celebrated on August 8. 8/8 aka " Bā Bā" sounds like the word for dad  爸爸 ( Bà ba). 

Here are 9 phrases you can say to Dad on Father's Day in Mandarin Chinese:

  1. "爸爸，我爱你" (Bà ba, wǒ ài nǐ):
    "Dad, I love you."
    This short yet powerful phrase speaks volumes. Saying "我爱你" (I love you) is a universal way to convey your love to your father on this special day.

  2. "爸爸，你辛苦了" (Bà ba, nǐ xīn kǔ le):
